Our history

Founded in 2022, Incipit Manuscript Ediciones, S.L. is the culmination of a trajectory that dates back to the beginnings of FotoJAE in 1993. FotoJAE, a graphic arts company, had the immense pleasure of facing the challenge of producing, among others, the facsimile for the Kaydeda publishing house, the famous Codex Calixtinus, and Joaquín G. Villamor (partner of FotoJAE), paved the way for the subsequent creation of Productora Internacional de Arte y Facsimiles (PIAF) in 2005.

PIAF, as a natural evolution of FotoJAE, further consolidated the commitment to the faithful and meticulous reproduction of ancient manuscripts through the development of specialised techniques and the adoption of rigorous quality standards. PIAF’s reputation as an industry leader in the production of facsimile editions was consolidated during its years of operation, establishing a legacy of excellence and authenticity in the field.

Today, Incipit Manuscript Ediciones, S.L. represents the continuation and expansion of this legacy, merging the experience and excellence of PIAF with a renewed vision for the future. Our company is dedicated to preserving and promoting access to humanity’s cultural heritage through the production of facsimile editions of the highest quality, while maintaining a commitment to authenticity and respect for history and culture.
