The author, Jesús Herrero Marcos (Palencia, 1950). From a very young age he was interested in the abundant Romanesque architecture of his province. This attraction became, over time, a passion that marked both his studies and his professional life. This led him, in turn, to develop a great fondness for the photography of monuments. He has published several books on the Romanesque architecture of some provinces, delving especially into the symbolic aspects, generally less known than the purely architectural ones and which, however, he considers essential to understand the cultural, religious, artistic and social keys of the medieval period.
